Basketball Recap: Lee Academy Takes a Loss

If Lee Academy was feeling good fresh off their 53-12 takedown of Searsport last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lee Academy Pandas took a 47-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stearns Minutemen on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pandas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-23 back in December of 2024.

Lee Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Stearns, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Lee Academy and Stearns: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Lee Academy will look to extend East Grand's 14-game losing streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Stearns will try to hand Piscataquis their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
