Basketball Recap: Jefferson J-Hawks vs. Woodstock Blue Streaks
The Jefferson J-Hawks won the last time they faced the Woodstock Blue Streaks, and things went their way on Monday too. Jefferson took down the Blue Streaks 54-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Jefferson.
Jefferson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mariah Williams out in front who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Abbie Bracius was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Jefferson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-16. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Woodstock, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will take on the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodstock, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Thunder at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Illinois (Woodstock North is ranked 363rd, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 358th).
