Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Baker Mountaineers vs. Blaine Borderites

Mt. Baker is on a three-game streak of home losses, Blaine an 11-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The Mt. Baker Mountaineers will host the Blaine Borderites at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Baker has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Saturday, Mt. Baker was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Mount Vernon. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Mountaineers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Blaine had to suffer through a 77-42 loss at the hands of Sedro-Woolley. While losing is never fun, the Borderites can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Cubs are ranked 76th).

Blaine's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Mt. Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Mt. Baker strolled past Blaine when the teams last played back in January by a score of 59-40. Will Mt. Baker repeat their success, or does Blaine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
