Softball Recap: Colton Vikings vs. Perrydale Pirates
Colton couldn't beat Perrydale on Friday even though they stacked ten runs on them in the first inning. The Vikings lost 26-10 to the Pirates. The Vikings have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Colton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Holiday, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. Tory Hakes was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Colton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Perrydale, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Colton will square off against rival Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Perrydale is set to face off against their familiar foe Western Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Pirates' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Pioneers have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
