Desert Edge has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 11.75 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They were dealt a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Verrado Vipers. That makes it the first time this season the Scorpions have let down their home crowd.

A big part of Verrado's victory came down to the chemistry between Mia Williams and her top target Sanaa Holliday. Williams threw for 237 yards and four touchdowns while Holliday picked up 85 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Verrado is 2-1 when Williams posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Nevaeh Romero helped Williams out on the ground, picking up 70 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Desert Edge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Verrado, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
