Basketball Recap: Chambersburg Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chambersburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past the State College Little Lions with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 61-43. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Trojans were the better team in the second half.

Reed Melvin and Nick Carr certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Melvin went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds, while Carr posted eight points and three steals.

Chambersburg's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for State College, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Chambersburg will face off against Central Dauphin East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for State College, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-57 win against Williamsport on the 4th.
