Football Recap: Rock Hill Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Rock Hill has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chesapeake Panthers on Friday. The Redmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Rock Hill lost, don't look at Brady Murrell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 98 yards and two scores on only nine carries. Murrell also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, making two total tackles, and defending one pass. Rock Hill also got a significant boost from Kelan Davidson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 96 yards.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-3. As for Chesapeake, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rock Hill will take on Dawson-Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Redmen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chesapeake, they will challenge Fairland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
