League recap: Reed City tops Chippewa Hills to extend winning streak

Reed City extended the longest winning streak in Central State this week by beating Chippewa Hills, 38-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Lakeview moved up to 317 from 346 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to make the jump by beating Hesperia 20-13.

Keagan James put up the best numbers through the air as Central Montcalm fell to Newaygo. He finished with a total of two completions for 10 yards and one touchdown. James' favorite target this week was Jesse Judge, who caught two passes for 10 yards.

Shane Travis was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors lost to Reed City. Travis racked up three receptions for 38 yards. Peter Lewandowski helped Chippewa Hills' passing attack out by catching three balls for 26 yards.

David Dykstra was the most productive running back in Central State this week. He ran for 119 yards on 20 carries as White Cloud fell to Monty Price's team. Dakota Scholten also contributed to the rushing game with 54 yards on the ground.

Larry Jose's team's Jake Tarbell and Trent Karcher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Tarbell has thrown for 873 yards this season, while Karcher has 30 catches for 702 yards. The Hornets' James leads the league in rushing yards with 794.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Coyotes take on the Panthers. At the moment, Reed City is in first, while Hesperia is in fifth.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Coyotes take on Todd Myers's team. Reed City has allowed 76 points this season, while the Panthers have given up 79.

Lakeview made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,599 from 9,150. The advance stemmed from a 20-13 victory over Hesperia last week.
