Cocoa Beach kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 58-7 loss at the hands of the Melbourne Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Minutemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 184th).

Remy Vigne threw for 168 yards and one touchdown. Arturo Stanley was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards. On the ground, Ryan Rogers rushed for 26 yards.

Melbourne was led to victory by Edrick Hall and Tyrese Jefferson. Hall rushed for 37 yards and a pair of TDs, while Jefferson rushed for 67 yards and three scores on only five carries.
