Football Recap: Cocoa Beach Falls to Melbourne in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Cocoa Beach kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 58-7 defeat at the hands of the Melbourne Bulldogs. The Minutemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-7.

Remy Vigne threw for 168 yards and one touchdown. Arturo Stanley was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards. On the ground, Ryan Rogers rushed for 26 yards.

Melbourne was led to victory by Edrick Hall and Tyrese Jefferson. Hall rushed for 37 yards and a pair of TDs, while Jefferson rushed for 67 yards and three scores on only five carries.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cocoa Beach will head out to take on Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Melbourne, they will venture away from home to challenge Merritt Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
