Basketball Recap: Heath Comes Up Short

Heath was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 45-26 fall against the Granville Blue Aces. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while the Blue Aces are ranked 119th).

Defeat or not, Heath got some senior leadership from Shelby Moore and Peyton Del Cecato. Moore posted eight points, while Del Cecato went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points and five steals. That's the most steals Del Cecato has posted since back in December of 2024. Marley Morris also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Heath's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Granville, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Heath didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-44 defeat against Lakewood on the 1st. Granville has also already played their next match, a 27-15 victory against Licking Valley on the 1st.
