Yuma Catholic won the last time they faced North Valley Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Shamrocks slipped by the Lions 62-61. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Shamrocks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Lions are ranked 28th).

The win was the third in a row for Yuma Catholic, bringing their record up to 5-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for North Valley Christian Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Yuma Catholic and Sabino will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. The Shamrocks will be up against the Sabercats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.56 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. John Paul II Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. The contest will give North Valley Christian Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season.
