Baseball Game Preview: Pasquotank County Panthers vs. Currituck County Knights

Pasquotank County hasn't had much luck against Currituck County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Pasquotank County came up short against First Flight and fell 5-1.

Nathan Rice put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Currituck County fell victim to Martin County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered since March 25, 2025.

Dom Doran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, Currituck County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Beliles, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Currituck County's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-3. As for Pasquotank County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Pasquotank County might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Currituck County in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
