Basketball Recap: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Rena Rasmussen and Carlie Kvols

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost against Pierce back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears fell just short of the Pierce Bluejays by a score of 53-51. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's loss came despite strong showings from Carlie Kvols and Rena Rasmussen. Kvols went 7 for 10 on her way to 19 points, while Rasmussen dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Kvols a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lainey Schutte, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's record is now 5-4. As for Pierce, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will venture away from home to challenge Archbishop Bergan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season. As for Pierce, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Pierce Bluejays duke it out with the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pierce is facing Lutheran-Northeast at the right time seeing as Lutheran-Northeast is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
