Baseball Game Preview: Gull Lake Blue Devils vs. Three Rivers Wildcats

The Gull Lake Blue Devils will face off against the Three Rivers Wildcats on Saturday. Gull Lake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Three Rivers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Gull Lake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Hopkins. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Three Rivers hadn't beaten Niles on the road since May 13, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Vikings 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The victory (which was Gull Lake's third in a row) raised their record to 24-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Three Rivers, their victory bumped their record up to 21-13.
