Basketball Recap: North Murray Takes a Loss

North Murray and Westside squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but North Murray had to settle for second. They fell 44-31 to the Westside Seminoles. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Seminoles are ranked 182nd).

Joshua Harden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Westside, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most boards Harden has posted since back in November of 2024. Christian Little was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

North Murray's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-14. As for Westside, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

North Murray does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westside, they will take on Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Union County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 games -- so hopefully Westside likes a good challenge.
