The Mission Bay Buccaneers will square off against the Southwest SD Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mission Bay is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Wednesday, Mission Bay needed a bit of extra time to put away West Hills. They had just enough and edged out the Wolf Pack 3-2.

Blake Barnes tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emery Semmens, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Southwest SD got themselves on the board against Crawford on Tuesday, but Crawford never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Sebestian Martinez's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Elijah Lewis was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Anthony Bejarano was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Mission Bay's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest SD, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mission Bay has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. However, it's not like Southwest SD struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Mission Bay's way against Southwest SD when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Mission Bay made off with an 11-3 victory. Will Mission Bay repeat their success, or does Southwest SD has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
