Basketball Recap: Bastrop Takes a Loss

Bastrop extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They took a blow against the Marble Falls Mustangs, falling 63-15. The matchup marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Marble Falls, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since November 19, 2024 (when they won 62-12).

Marble Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Sprott led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Sprott is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Emma Martin was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Bastrop has already played their next contest (against Tournament Team), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marble Falls, they have also already played their next matchup, a 60-24 victory against Gainesville on the 20th.
