After a string of five wins, Pine Grove's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 57-49 to the Thrasher Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Rebels are ranked 37th).

Pine Grove's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Thrasher, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Grove will venture away from home to challenge Tupelo Christian Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pine Grove is facing Tupelo Christian Prep at the right time seeing as Tupelo Christian Prep is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Thrasher will take on Biggersville in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
