Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 52-37 fall against the Washington Patriots. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Mary Rivera continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Washington, going 7-for-9 on her way to 19 points. The match was Rivera's third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Adams, who posted nine points.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Washington, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-30 loss against Allegany on the 8th. As for Washington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-55 victory against Spring Mills on the 8th.
