Basketball Recap: Savannah Country Day Comes Up Short

Savannah Country Day lost against Effingham County back in November of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Savannah Country Day Hornets lost 65-43 to the Effingham County Rebels.

Effingham County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elyjah Doty, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points and three steals. That's the most steals Doty has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Damion Gordon, who went 6 of 11 to rack up 13 points and five rebounds.

Savannah Country Day has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Effingham County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14.

Savannah Country Day has already played their next match, a 68-46 defeat against Toombs County on the 8th. As for Effingham County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-38 loss against Greenbrier on the 8th.
