Basketball Recap: Whitehall Norse vs. Independence/Gilmanton Indees

After flying high against Osseo-Fairchild last Tuesday, Whitehall came back down to earth. The Norse took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Independence/Gilmanton Indees on Friday. The Norse were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indees apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Independence/Gilmanton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Arabelle Knisely out in front who posted seven points along with 14 boards and five steals. Knisely is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Mikayah Scow also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Whitehall's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Independence/Gilmanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Whitehall will venture away from home to challenge Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence/Gilmanton, they will host Alma Center Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indees will be up against the Hornets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
