Softball Recap: Rockwall-Heath Gets the Win

Rockwall-Heath came out on top against Wylie on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Hawks walked away with a 6-2 win over the Pirates. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Pirates back in March, they had to take a 14-3 defeat.

Makenna Burleson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Burleson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kelsey Wathen was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sophia Morin, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Rockwall-Heath's victory bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Wylie, their loss dropped their record down to 19-9.

Rockwall-Heath will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
