Baseball Recap: Shadow Mountain Takes a Loss

Shadow Mountain lost against Moon Valley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Matadors took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jack Zauner put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Zauner wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alex Forkum, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Shadow Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for Moon Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 4-14 record.

Looking ahead, Shadow Mountain will venture away from home to take on Paradise Honors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Moon Valley will be paying especially close attention to the Matadors' matchup: after the Matadors faces off against the Panthers, they'll take on Moon Valley again at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
