Basketball Recap: Living Word Lutheran Extends Winning Streak to Three

Living Word Lutheran won against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy last Friday with 80 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves strolled past the Milwaukee Reagan Huskies with points to spare, taking the game 80-63. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Huskies are ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Living Word Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Easton Oliver, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Gavin Weissenburger was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

The win was the third in a row for Living Word Lutheran, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.3 points per game. As for Milwaukee Reagan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Living Word Lutheran will take on Sheboygan Area Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Sheboygan Area Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Milwaukee Reagan, they will challenge Saint Anthony/Milw Ronald Reagan/Golda Meir at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
