Soccer Game Preview: East Carteret vs. Jones + How To Watch

The East Carteret Mariners will square off against the Jones Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

East Carteret is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lejeune just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 4-0 to the Devilpups. While losing is never fun, East Carteret can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 484th, while Lejeune are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Jones was forced to settle for a draw. They and Southside finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw on Monday.

Jones' draw gives them a new season record of 9-9-1. As for East Carteret, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

East Carteret beat Jones 3-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Mariners repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
