Baseball Recap: Iowa Comes Up Short

If Iowa was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of DeQuincy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Iowa Yellowjackets fell just short of the Doyle Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Iowa's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Doyle, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Doyle beat Iowa by a score of 3-2 later that day.
