Baseball Recap: Mabel-Canton Takes a Loss

Mabel-Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Athletics this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 back in March.

Mabel-Canton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Underbakke, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Underbakke has hit this season.

Mabel-Canton's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Lyle/Pacelli, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mabel-Canton is set to challenge their familiar foe Schaeffer Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lyle/Pacelli will take on rival Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Athletics' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Hurricanes have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
