Softball Recap: Dexter Beats Ruidoso for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Dexter waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Ruidoso Warriors as they made off with a 16-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 13-1 victory on Thursday.

Danyela Munoz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Melody Duran was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Miller, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Dexter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive contests.

Dexter's win bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Ruidoso, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.

As of now, neither Dexter nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
