Softball Recap: Willis Extends Winning Streak to Four

Willis lost to College Park back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Wildkats came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 7-2. The victory was nothing new for the Wildkats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Alexi Ford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bobbie Reddicks, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Rylee Gage, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Willis' record is now 17-6. As for College Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Willis will square off against rival New Caney at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, College Park is set to challenge their familiar foe Caney Creek at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
