Softball Game Preview: McGregor Bulldogs vs. Clifton Cubs

McGregor and Clifton are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. McGregor will be playing in front of their home fans against Clifton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. McGregor is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

McGregor will bounce into Monday's game after beating West, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. McGregor walked away with a 9-6 victory over West on Friday. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly three runs.

Layla Goff was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Addyson Todd was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Clifton fell victim to Troy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 7-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cubs in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Clifton now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for McGregor, their win bumped their record up to 18-1.
