Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hayden). They claimed a resounding 74-42 victory over the Mogollon Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Hayden was led to victory by Kino Lorona and Darren Smith. Lorona gained 176 total yards and four touchdowns, while Smith threw for 248 yards and six TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Lorona has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last 12 times he's played. Tyler Garner helped Smith out on the ground, picking up 72 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 54 yards and one touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Mogollon lost on Friday, don't look at Quinn Tenney. Despite the final result, he threw for 314 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 42 yards and one score. Kaleb Porter was another key player, gaining 149 total yards.

Hayden's record is now 4-0. As for Mogollon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hayden will venture away from home to face off against San Manuel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lobos will be up against the Miners' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mogollon, they are taking a road trip to take on Mayer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
