Softball Recap: Lake County Comes Up Short

Lake County had lost eight straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-13 to make it nine. They came up short against the Gleason Bulldogs, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in March.

As for Gleason, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

For Gleason's part, they let Elaine Covington and Ava Bennett run wild. Covington went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Bennett went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was Covington's first of the season. Addy Black was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Lake County will head out to take on Greenfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gleason, they will be playing at home against Fulton County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Pilots at the right time seeing as the Pilots are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
