Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. John Paul II walked away with it. They never let the St. Joseph Academy Flashes get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on five straight.
The result came thanks to AMANDA THOMPSON's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
The win got St. John Paul II back to even at 12-12. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7.
As of now, neither St. John Paul II nor the Flashes have any future games scheduled.
