Baseball Recap: Hattiesburg Takes a Loss

Hattiesburg was the 8-4 winner over Cathedral when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday.

Hattiesburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Polk, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another was Tyler Weatherspoon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Hattiesburg's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Cathedral, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hattiesburg will take on Long Beach at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Cathedral, they will venture away from home to take on Parklane Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
