Basketball Recap: Canadian's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Canadian came into Friday's game having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged the McCurtain Bulldogs out 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since January 20th.

Canadian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for McCurtain, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Canadian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-38 defeat against Leflore on the 14th. McCurtain and Whitesboro will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McCurtain is facing Whitesboro at the right time seeing as Whitesboro is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
