Volleyball Recap: Polo Marcos vs. Amboy Clippers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Polo had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Amboy Clippers by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Marcos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Polo easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13.
Bridget Call paced Polo's offense, picking up 14 kills. Call got some help from
Camrynn Jones and her 17 assists.
Laynie Mandrell controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
The win made it two in a row for Polo and bumps their season record up to 17-13-4. As for Amboy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-18-3 record this season.
Polo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Milledgeville on the 30th. Amboy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
