Baseball Recap: Goshen Comes Up Short

After flying high against Luverne last Thursday, Goshen came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Tigers on Friday, falling 16-6. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Grant Taylor was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Goshen's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-13 when he doesn't). Tyler McLendon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Goshen has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Luverne, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-18.

As of now, neither Goshen nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
