Basketball Recap: Sonora Takes a Loss

Sonora suffered their biggest loss since February 6, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by the Reagan County Owls and fell 62-32. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-12.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Killough, who posted seven points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Killough has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Castillo, who earned six points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Sonora and nudges their season record down to 14-15. As for Reagan County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Sonora will welcome Christoval at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Reagan County, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Reagan County Owls face off against the Eldorado Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
