Mitchell lost against Clearwater Central Catholic back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Marauders. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Makaia Mohammed paced Mitchell's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mohammed got some help from Emma Hatzistefanou and her 12 assists. Maddie Bruno controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Clearwater Central Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Megan Christian out in front who had 12 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Christian a new career-high in assists (three). Adriana Shorter was another key player, getting four digs and two aces.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Weeki Wachee on the 7th. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Calvary Christian on the 7th.
