Softball Recap: Conrad Weiser Victorious

The Conrad Weiser Scouts beat the Exeter Township Eagles 8-5 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scouts.

Aleena Martino made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Alex Trevena was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Trevena is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Derfler, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Conrad Weiser kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Conrad Weiser's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Exeter Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Coming up, Conrad Weiser is taking a road trip to face off against Lancaster Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Exeter Township, they will host Hempfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
