Softball Game Preview: West Noble Chargers vs. NorthWood Panthers

The West Noble Chargers will challenge the NorthWood Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. West Noble has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 15 straight defeats, while NorthWood will come in with three straight victories.

Thursday just wasn't the day for West Noble's offense. They came up short against Fairfield on Thursday, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, NorthWood earned a 10-5 win over South Bend Adams on Friday.

Chloe Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, NorthWood got a big performance out of Megan Yoder, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Yoder has posted since back in April. Mady Grover also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

NorthWood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

West Noble's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for NorthWood, their record is now 14-8.

West Noble suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to NorthWood when the teams last played back in April. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
