Basketball Recap: Pope John Paul II Takes a Loss

Pope John Paul II lost against St. Helena College and Career Academy on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pope John Paul II Jaguars might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 47-34 to the St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Hawks are ranked 110th).

Pope John Paul II now has a losing record at 10-11. As for St. Helena College and Career Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jaguars challenge the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Helena College and Career Academy, they will square off against Baker at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
