The Godley Wildcats will square off against the Ferris Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Godley's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-0 margin over Kennedale. Considering Godley has won 13 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Karlee Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sierra Beratto was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Bree Hubbard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Godley lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Ferris earned a 14-11 win over Hillsboro on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Like Godley, Ferris also got a great game from a two-way player: Landri Davis. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off ten hits. Davis was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Ferris let Aubrie Henson and Valorie Carrillo run wild. Henson scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Carrillo scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Welling, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Godley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Ferris now has a winning record of 9-8-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Godley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. However, it's not like Ferris struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
