Football Game Preview: Kirk Academy Raiders vs. Regents Lions

The Kirk Academy Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Regents Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kirk Academy will be strutting in after a win while Regents will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Kirk Academy strolled past North Delta with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Green Wave recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Linton Carson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Those 201 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Gage Vance helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kirk Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 317 rushing yards. They rushed for 103 more rushing yards than North Delta's also-impressive total of 214.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 48 points the game before, Regents was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 38-7 loss at the hands of Oak Hill Academy.

Regents' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Kirk Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Kirk Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 215.8 rushing yards per game.
