Savannah Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the South Effingham Mustangs by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Leading Savannah Christian to victory were Carinne Cason and Krisha Bodalia. Cason had 15 assists and eight digs, while Bodalia had six digs.
South Effingham's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Magana, who had 12 assists and seven digs. Savannah Christian has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against St. Vincent's on the 14th. As for South Effingham, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on St. Andrew's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
