Basketball Recap: Springfield Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Springfield walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons on Thursday as they made off with a 74-53 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 21 points or more this season.

Brayden Sturm was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds. What's more, he posted five steals, the most he's had since back in January. Bryan Buerkle was another key player, going 8-for-12 en route to 18 points along with six boards and three steals.

The victory (which was Springfield's eighth in a row) raised their record to 27-2. As for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Coming up, Springfield will face off against Madelia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
