Football Game Preview: Hattiesburg Tigers vs. West Jones Mustangs + How To Watch

The Hattiesburg Tigers will face off against the West Jones Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If West Jones heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Hattiesburg took over last week. Everything went the Tigers' way against George County on Friday as they made off with a 42-21 win. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Hattiesburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Ducksworth out in front who threw for 419 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Ducksworth a new career-high in passer rating (166.7). Hattiesburg's leading receiver Davion Young was Ducksworth's top target yet again, picking up 240 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, West Jones never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 41-0 win over Forest Hill. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

West Jones' win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Hattiesburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Hattiesburg strolled past West Jones when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 24-9. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
