Soccer Game Preview: Estero vs. North Fort Myers

After a short break, it's finally time for some more action. The Estero Wildcats will take on the North Fort Myers Red Knights in a tournament on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Estero's offense. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Aubrey Rogers an easy 7-0 win. The Wildcats have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, North Fort Myers waltzed into their contest two weeks ago with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 7-1 victory. Considering the Red Knights have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Naples from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Hannah Busenbark led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

North Fort Myers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 62 goals over those nine contests. As for Estero, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2-1.

Estero suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to North Fort Myers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Estero avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
