Softball Recap: Ridgecroft Rams vs. Pungo Christian Academy Raiders
Ridgecroft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell just short of the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders by a score of 6-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ridgecroft of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.
Klaire Cherry was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Cherry was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run, and a double.
In other batting news, Makenzie Slaughter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Ja'Nasiah Lyles-Askew was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
